Best light from long distance riding

I chose this light for my ultra-distance race setup this year, and I just finished my 1st one (Desertus Bikus in Spain, 1400km).
It lives up to all its promises.
Main feedback is that I don't even need high and adaptative modes, only for unexpected situations; Medium mode is bright enough for me, even in the darkest conditions on gravel roads. I would even use low mode when climbing.
I used it almost always plugged to an external battery. Pass-through charging + this super satisfying cable underneath are very neat.
The materials and mount look solid and I can't complain of any default for now. I can't emphasize enough how cool and simple it is to use this light - something alternates could learn from.
Great work Outbound Lighting, and I hope I'll be happy with it in my next races too!

Great light for road riding at night or early mornings!

I first saw this light at a cycling trade show and thought, that light looks pretty awesome I need to get one. A month later I ordered off the website (great email support), it arrived quickly and it lived up to my expectations. The light has a long range and really nice brightness without blinding oncoming cars, runners or riders. 10/10.

Amazing light!

Extremely bright, easy to use, usb-c. Set to the daytime commute setting I can see the strobe reflecting off of street signs in the daylight. Absolutely no way oncoming traffic can't see me.
The action camera mount holds it underneath my bike computer securely.

Quality lighting that makes the dark something I look forward to!

I had some random rider recommend Outbound to me. I look forward to seeing them again so I can thank them. The lighting quality is well above what I expected. The build quality is exceptional and the interface makes it easy to deal with no matter how cold and wet I am.
Nice work Outbound team!

this thing rips

beam shape makes so much more sense than traditional flashlight designs, daytime mode is SUPER visible, and the pass through charging is clutch for the occasional midnight ride. super happy with the go pro style mounts as well, rock solid over all kinds of nonsense new england road and gravel surfaces so far!

Automotive headlights
For your bike

Bringing our automotive lighting experience to provide a clean cut-off beam pattern that evenly illuminates the road ahead. You wouldn't use a flashlight for your car, why use it for your bike?

Optical Engineering

This is the game changer. Not only did we bring the automotive grade cutoff beam pattern to your handlebars, we took it a step further by precisely controlling how much light leaves the light and hits the ground from the front of your tire all the way up to where you are looking. When you read "it's like riding in daylight" this is why.

We are the only USA-based manufacturer of cutoff (also referred to as StVZO) beam pattern bike lights, we also made sure the light has unreal width to light up the ditches and keep the spooky things away.

No wires.
No fuss.
No Problem.

Say goodbye to bulky battery packs, hanging wires, zipties, and rubber bands holding your lights on your handlebar.

Detour was designed with your ride in mind. Long runtime, easy mounting, broad panoramic beam, fast USB-C charging, and all backed by industry leading customer service.

Rock Solid Mounting

A good light isn’t so good if
it’s bouncing up and down on the bars all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Detour so it’s solidly locked to the bar, With a simple shim it adapts from 35mm to 31.8mm handlebars (25.4 and 22mm shims available) and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.

Keep Life Simple

Few people read instruction manuals, even fewer want to, we keep our lights dead simple so that you don’t need an advanced degree to remember some complicated sequence of button presses to get to the mode you want.

USB-C pass-Thru Charging

We were one of the first to offer USB-C charging as standard, except we took it a step further by offering pass-through charging as well. This lets you plug in any USB power bank and charge the light while in use,
in any mode. Game changer for 24 hour races and extra long night rides!

Keeping Cool

When you pick up this light you might be surprised to not feel any metal. Plastic?! Must be something we used to be cheap isn't it? Far from it. This material we use is an incredibly cool (ha) engineered resin that is not only very durable, but also conducts heat. The result is a lightweight, durable, and thermally balanced light housing.

Make your Night ride enjoyable.

It can be sketchy riding at night when you are used to narrow beam patterns better suited for walking in the backyard. Our incredible optical engineering makes riding at night a joy again.
