Super stoked!

Love these lights! Honestly, everything about them is impressive; starts with the packaging, and even the instructions, next even the handlebar shim is nicely made, the lights themselves are very solid, professional, and well built. The charge cords themselves are also very nice. I love the adaptive mode! The way the notches are on the adjustments are also very nice for micro tweaks. I have owned lights since the 90s; Night Sun, Night Rider, Magic Shine, and these are the best! I have two BMW motorcycles and honestly, I would put the build quality of these lights up in the same category. The price for how nice these are is actually very reasonable. Thank you so much!

Life changing

As a manager over a night shift crew I’m naturally up during the night. I used to mostly ride my trail bike on the roads/sidewalks since I was not able to see more than a circle in front of me with the other lights I was using. Now thanks to Outbound I can ride at any time of the night and see the trails just as well as during the day. For road rides I use the lowest settings on both and angle the Evo down so I don’t blind drivers, then once I get to the trails I only have to press one button and adjust a thumb screw and I’m good to go. The adaptive mode is great. I’ve never noticed any difference in visibility and only know it’s gotten dimmer when I press the button to change modes and it shifts into high. So far I’ve done rides of 3+ hours of trails/commuting and still had 2/4 bars when I got home. The quality of the build is outstanding, not to mention they look great. To say I’m impressed is an understatement. Thank you Outbound for creating these. I’ll never run another brand of lights again. I’ll attach some videos/pictures as well as a comparison to my old light. These were all taken before I got their cable manager but even without it I never noticed any visibility issues from the in cables in the path of the light in person.

Evo Portal combo

On arrival Portal light has something jiggling inside, button doesn't work unless firmly pressed compared to Evo

That's....definitely not a normal thing and not OK. I don't see any other correspondence with us about this, just this public review, so this response will trigger an email to you, which you can respond to with some more detail so we can understand exactly what's going on and get you fixed up immediately!

Amazing lights

Yes, these lights are a little pricey. However, for me, totally worth it. Here in AZ about 2/3rds of the year we have perfect riding weather, the other third is early morning or night riding weather. In order to keep riding year round, I needed some lights. My old ones just weren’t cutting it anymore. I saw a few people on the trails at night and they highly recommended Outbound. I pulled the trigger and I’m glad I did. The handlebar mount lights up the trail in front while the helmet mounded light lights up where you’re looking. It’s kind of weird going from one handlebar mounted light to a handlebar mounted light and a helmet light. For me making the switch is something I’m getting used to just because I’m used to staring into darkness when I’m looking down the trail. Overall, these are great lights and I would highly recommend them if you like doing night rides out on the mountain trails. Especially here in Arizona. Furthermore, if outbound ever makes a tail light, I will definitely add it to the list of items that I will be purchasing for my bikes.

These lights are awesome

I had high expectations when I purchased these lights and they were met. I am very impressed with how clearly I can see riding in the dark, and it made it easy to ride faster with confidence.

The best lights out there!

Hands down Outbound Lighting has the best and most powerful lights in the market. All of my riding friends have them and wouldn't trust our night riding to any other brand.

Another step forward in lighting.

Improving on our insane Evo Downhill Package was no easy task. We kept the tried and tested Trail Evo on the handlebars, and added the new Portal helmet light for your lid.

The powerful combination of the two adds another level of dimension to your night ride, with an insane runtime to match.

Ride even longer.
Explore even more.

The added runtime of Portal Downhill package means you'll barely have to think about your battery.

Freedom.

No wires, no zipties, no battery packs, no entanglement, no awkwardness. Free to ride just like you do in the daytime.

Bombproof Best Friend

The astonishing Trail Evo is the zenith of self-contained, wireless mountain bike lights. Soon to be your favorite part of your bike.

Enter the Portal

The powerful big brother to Hangover, more lumens, more runtime, more riding, more fun.

Rock Solid Mounting

A good light isn’t so good if it’s bouncing up and down on all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Evo. It’s solidly locked to the bar and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.

It's an easy one-handed quick-release process to pop Trail Evo off post-ride to charge.

Portal uses the tried-and-tested action camera mount to securely mount to your helmet just like cameras have for years.

CFD and thermodynamic simulation of the Trail Evo bike light

Thermally Engineered

High power bike lights get hot, that is why we use our engineering prowess to keep them cool. Utilizing another industry first, we collect air through a scoop underneath the light, and pass it through the light, cooling all nine LED's on Trail Evo that are spread apart to balance the heat load.

Trail Evo USB-C Recharging

USB-C pass-thru charging

We were one of the first to offer USB-C charging as standard, except we took it a step further by offering pass-through charging as well. This lets you plug in any USB power bank and charge the light while in use, in any mode, for ANY light. Game changer for 24 hour races and extra long night rides!
