The light seems to work well on lighting the rear of my bike. My frustration with the unit are the shims. Maybe I wasn't using them correctly? The small shim was too small and hard to keep in place when installing. The large shim, full 360 degrees version, is what I was shipped. It was too big and I could not cinch up the Allen screw tight enough to keep the light from dropping and lighting the pavement. I tried to text and call but never got an answer. I made my own shim and was able to install it more or less correctly.

Hi Mark, it looks like the text went through, but didn't create a ticket in our system, so when Jason was out for a couple days it just slipped through the cracks. The joys of small business growth. I'm really sorry about that, but we're here now and will absolutely get this addressed, Jason is texting you now while I respond here.
It sounds like your seatpost likely required the smaller shim that you had difficulty keeping in place while installing, so if you just didn't use it then the larger shim wouldn't have worked, but we'll know more once we get your seatpost dimensions. We should be able to make the stock mount work for you, but if it doesn't for any reason then we will get you an alternate mount for the specific size post you have, avoiding shims all together, so that this is rock solid going forward.
I've had my Outbound Detour headlight for years and love it, so I had to check out the taillight when I saw that they were making one.
It's tremendous. Barfs out a ton of light in a bunch of directions in every mode, giant battery means it runs forever, and it has real nice bike presence.
This feels like one of the best lights on the market; I like this thing so much that I've already ordered another for my wife.
Not much to say beyond “man, these folks really know how to design a nice freaking bike light”.
I have all of the lights that Outbound makes and just got the tail light. The design is really well thought out and executed. I have used many different lights over the last 30 years and these are by far the best.
A light so bright that I know I'll be an eye catching sight. When rolling down a road with whatever mode drivers will have no excuse to crush me like a toad. The battery life so long my playlist nearly runs out of songs. With its well engineered durable design it will surely last me a lifetime. I hope this review persuades you to upgrade to the blade as using their awesome products certainly adds happiness and safety to my day!
It's excellent! No issues! Only issue I had was getting it lined up but that's because I'm picky with placement. Nothing to do with the product
