Haven’t used it for long, but super happy with the purchase
I needed a new, super reliable bicycle light for commuting. About 10 miles each way down rail trails, which are dark this time of year. Picked up the Outbound Detour on the advice of a fellow cyclist and am very happy. Things I love: 1. the beam pattern; sharp cutoff means it doesn’t blind people and I always feel self conscious when I have a front light that blinds people/cars, and get annoyed when others do the same to me. I am not aware of another light that has a cutoff like this, and my other Niterider lights are basically a flashlight with a bike mount. 2. The USB-C connector. Nuff said in the modern world; can we please do away with mini or micro USB? Even my current generation Garmin Varia tail light fails this test. 3. The mount is great. I got the action camera mount so attached that to the bottom of my out front GPS mount and it is centered and stays out of the way without adding an extra thing to my handlebars. The mount interface to the light itself is clearly very secure and well made, clicks in well, metal, and gives me a lot of confidence. 4. Customer service and made in USA. Their website reads like folks that will stand behind the light if anything ever fails. I don’t think I’ll ever need to take advantage of this because the light seems ultra solid, but great to know I’m supporting a small business, the lights are locally made, and they stand by them. This goes a long way with me (I also am a big fan of Ornot). 5. This thing is clearly a beast. I can tell it’s very well made, sturdy, heavy duty. It gives me a lot of confidence, especially comparing side by side with the other lights I have. Overall very happy with this, and am confident that after the days get longer again and I have used it for a season, I’ll feel the same way. I can’t really compare against every other light out there, I’m sure others have some of these upsides (and I haven’t found any downsides to the light yet), but this seems like the total package.

Very impressed
This light clearly has gone through numerous design considerations. I’ve been using it night after night, and the battery life is great. I haven’t had a chance to experience the auto-dim feature, but I love the build quality and design of this light. It is a steep price, but honestly this should be one of those purchases that will last you a very long time…

perfect for mixed use paths
I ride a gravel bike on a mixed use path in the early morning. Before getting the Detour I was using the Evo from my mountain bike, and basically blinding anyone coming the other direction.
The cutoff beam pattern is amazing, no longer do I get insults hurled at me as I ride past. Everyone loves me now :)

Best bike light.
I've been wanting this light for awhile. I have a collection of lights from over the years. Most were disappointing. I've only been able to get a few rides in but I'm impressed. The beam pattern is the best. Simple controls and easy to see battery indicator. I'm going to purchase another soon to go on my helmet.

Rock Solid Mounting
A good light isn’t so good if it’s bouncing up and down on the bars all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Detour so it’s solidly locked to the bar, With a simple shim it adapts from 35mm to 31.8mm handlebars (25.4 and 22mm shims available) and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.
