lets face it. Every consumer product has flashy marketing. Some influencer maybe your influenced by...maybe you have some choice word opinions about which aren't appropriate for a review in this capacity. planned obsolescence is the foundation of the product, and the name of the game is CHINA CHNA CHINA. Get it cheap and slap it together as fast as possible and move as many units out the door as possible. We live and operate in an economy where its profits over the name on the tag, and a consumer is looked at as an impulsive spender with money that if "insert your company/ corp name here" doesn't take and take as much as they have to spend, then someone else will. There are a few fighter out there still who put that name on the product or the shirts reputation as a reliable and high performing quality product or service first. I am one and being so, i recognize when other companys go the extra mile in the snow and rain to deliver something better and superior instead of delivering a fatter bank deposit end of the week. OUTBOUND LIGHTS are the Toyota Hilux of offroad riding lights. They are small and compact, as is the Hilux but the capacity of these two small thing is nuts. On one hand the hilux can accomedate a 50 caliber belt fed machine gun or PKM mounted in the bed or anti aircraft gun plus 12 militants and get across a desert on one tank of gas......The OUTBOUND PORTAL is it's lighting counterpart. It comes with the most robust mounting bases for go pros I have ever used its ridiculous I actually got close lined trying to graham Jarvis under a gate the other day at dusk and had my go pro in. Anticipating swapping the light in short time I was freaking out assuming i would find the camera on the ground and a busted mount. Like the time in kindergardten I melted down over losing my backpack the entire bus ride to find it was on my back....I had one side of the male counterpart of the base break clean off. It landed in my shirt. im looking for my camera im like dude no way where the heck is it....It was on my helmet still because OUTBOUND LIGHTS makes products that can take a blow like Rocky Balboa. I put my light in place of the camera and ripped it for 2 hours and the broken mounts sitting in my helmet right now- working as good as it was prior to smashing into a gate top rail. Moving on from the boring base part which i was excited about....The light is so bright Helen Keller or Stevie Wonder could pick up mountain biking at night. Honesly this lights not for road cyclers so I dont care disclaiming the fact that if you wanted to during a road hawk between trails, be a menace- if you shone it into an oncoming vehicle you would win the game of chicken. I use it doing pretty fast to not so fast depending on the direction of the slope- dont get the steady downhill variety in Plymouth Mass as we all desire and seems thee is more uphill no matter which way you loop a trail- the light is as right as you need to jump, see whats coming your way- especially the terry ranches we have 365 ponds in town and trails are all around them and there are these beastly golf ball sized spiders that string up everywhere in the trails and my intake number has been reduced substantially in a short time of recieving my light. So if you read this review, to consider spending more money on something from amazon- im tling you the best youll get there is night rider and I thought they were fancy until I got a OUTBOUND and now they may as well be the $30 blue light special. Works great in foggy drizzly weather, works great going fast and aids in succuss when taking chances while maintaining that velocity. The battery life has been great I tried not to over charge the thing and I get a couple hours on setting 1 and or 2 they are both bright as hell i dont discern much difference and eventhe low setting 3 o 4 is good enough to get your self home at a reduced speed watever you have to go thru. LASTLTY, when i initially emailed these guys telling them how i thought there product was awesome and asking if they had any factory defects or whatever for sale because i was broke AF at the time, and said if they sent me any outbound stickers or a shirt I would rep it like a salary employee.......In there response they told me they would send me a stash of some OUTBOUND LIGHTING goodies and they kept their word. I got a thank you note in handwriting a idk a hundred stickers maybe. Those stickers are now on everything sticking out of the ground in my town and surrounding communities and I am going to need some more guys BTW....nah im jk i did not do that, that would be at the level of the graffiti dicks who have to spray paint anything above grade and i aint cool with those clowns. Thank you for asking for a review from me I enjoyed writing it and I am stoked with the light it met expectations and if you are weighing the purchase and looking at amazon ill tell ya right now- your a chump if you go with amazon and your i...
