Quick Release Handlebar Mount
- In stock, ready to ship
- Inventory on the way
Have multiple bikes? Want to swap Trail Evo or Detour between them often? Here ya go. (I can't believe we have to specify this, but this ONLY works with our lights, competitor lights will not be compatible.)
Fits 35mm and 31.8mm handlebars. (shims for 22.2mm and 25.4mm are available)
This can be mounted to the left or the right of the stem, so even if the mount is upside down, the light can be mounted right side up and function exactly as intended.
If you have a broken handlebar mount, please contact us before buying another, regardless of how you broke it! (We love hearing crash stories and will replace it even if you yeeted into a tree)
Changed how much I ride in the Phoenix summers! I’m now able to beat the heat and go for night rides! I’m glad I was turned onto these and I will always recommend them to anyone who needs lights to ride at night!
It's a clever design. I like the spring-loaded lock on the lever and embedded brass nut in the clamp. However, I question the robustness of the bar clamp itself. I'm assuming it's nylon, possibly reinforced? Still, I think it's a lot to ask of a cantilevered polymer clamp mount. I also had the mount loosen on me over time, not sure if that was related to the material or not. Creep could be a factor, esp is it's not a reinforced polymer. I do have multiple mounts, time will tell if my assumptions are true.
Great customer support tho!
Hey Nick, this is GF30 PA6, so glass-fiber-reinforced nylon, as such creep is essentially a non-issue over time. We chose this specifically so that it's stiff enough to not wiggle while riding under intense vibration, but durable enough to bend under impact without cracking or snapping. I'm not 100% sure but it sounds like you have not had any issues yet (aside from having to tighten the screw), you're just concerned something might happen? Good news is we do indeed cover everything, should something happen with the mount...which is alsoi why I'm fairly confident you'll be fine with this design, as we'd be in big trouble if every single mount we sent out was structurally compromised and had to cover it all for free, ha. At any rate, for sure reach out to us with any issues you have, we got you!
The quick release mount works perfectly. Just got a second fat bike and needed a mount for my Portal light. That light is fantastic. I also have a Detour for my road bike. Thanks, Outbound, for these great products. The Portal is going strong after a year, and the Detour is now over 2 years old.
I bought a second one for my other bike, because I love my light and want to swap it quickly between them. Very secure on there, I'm a terrible brand-new mountainbiker who's fallen hard many times and my bike's seen lots of wear, but that light's never fallen off.
I ordered one for all my bikes. It is so QUICK and easy to transfer my light from one bike to another. Best thing I ever did was get one for each bike. Highly recommend.
Outbound Lighting delivers exactly what every rider needs: brightness, durability, and total confidence on the trail. Their lights are incredibly powerful and illuminate the path far better than anything I’ve used before. The beam pattern is clean and effective, giving you the ability to truly see what’s ahead rather than just lighting up random spots.
The build quality is outstanding—solid, tough, and clearly made to last. Whether you’re ripping through singletrack, braving night rides, or just commuting in low light, these lights perform flawlessly.
Most importantly, Outbound Lighting genuinely makes the riding experience safer, smoother, and more enjoyable. Being able to see the trail clearly transforms night riding from sketchy to amazing.
Highly recommend to anyone serious about riding at night.
