This would be my 4th OL purchase - first was the original one with external battery pack, second is the hangover helmet light, third is the Trail Evo that I stupidly left on my bike rack and drove off.
Outbound Lighting has absolutely nailed it with this light. As a mountain biker who rides deep into the night, I need gear that performs flawlessly—and this delivers in every way. The beam pattern is incredibly well-engineered: wide, even, and natural, with no harsh hotspots or tunnel vision. It lights up the entire trail and periphery, giving me the confidence to ride fast and technical after the sun sets.
The build quality is rugged and sleek, and mounting it was a breeze—secure even on rough descents. Battery life is excellent, lasting well through long rides with no sudden drop-offs in brightness.
But what really sets Outbound Lighting apart is their customer service. I ordered the light but forgot to add the wire organizer, I sent an email to modify my order before it ships out, I received an email from Jason, confirming that they corrected my order before even responding to my email. It’s clear they stand behind their product and actually care about the people using it.

Glad I purchased the Trail Evo Bike Light
I was on the fence between Outbound and Niterider but ultimately pulled the trigger on the Outbound Trail Evo. What swayed my decision on the trail Evo:
1. Self contained unit w/o wires.
2. Brightness adjustability. This light is plenty bright even at the lower setting.
3. Excellent battery life for my style of riding (trail and enduro). Added bonus, you can hook up an external power pack to extend your rides.
4. Solid handlebar mount.
5. No BS policy and good customer service. I really liked how Outbound connects with the customers on a personal level by replying to reviews and making things right when needed.
I recently purchased this light and couldn't wait to take it for a spin. So far I got 3 rides with it. This light is super bright and lit up the trail like a UFO. Even at the lower setting, once your eyes adjust, the trail is well lit. I usually have it on high when I'm in the thick of it and will adjust down to medium or low when riding at lower speeds. Haven't tried adaptive mode but that is next. The beam pattern is excellent with top notch peripheral lighting. The light reaches pretty far down the trail, too. Solid bar mount. Once you tighten it down the light doesn't not shake nor move. I do wish there was a quicker way to tilt the light up or down without having to stop the ride and play with the screw, so to avoid blinding others coming towards you or cars. Battery life has been good so far. Being new to night riding, my rides have lasted just a little over an hour without issues. After 2 rides using varying brightness levels, the battery was still 50% full, according to indicator.
Overall I am glad I made the purchase and I'm very satisfied with the light. I probably should have purchased an extra mount for my other bike and the cable manager. I'll get to it eventually.

Amazing Light, Amazing Company
When I received my Evo Light and there were a couple really slight scuffs on it. I contacted the company and Jason Wilcox immediately contacted me back and sent me a replacement before I even returned the scuffed light. Jason bent over backwards to make it right. A rare thing in today’s businesses. I experimented with my light, turned it on high and let it sit on my counter. It took almost 3 hours to go dead on the highest setting, which is almost double what they say it should last. The light is super bright, and you can tell it is well made. Bright As Day

Rock Solid Mounting
