I LOVE my Outbound Trail Evo light that I’ve been using for the last couple of years. I ran into an issue with the original handlebar mount and a 22mm shim on an aero bar bridge on my bikepacking bike where the light mount wouldn’t tighten down. Other accessories didn’t have this problem on the same bridge.
I moved the mount and light to a different bike with a Moloko bar with a 22mm bridge as well, and had the same issue. Tried it on my Jones bars as well, and had the same issue. I ordered a new mount and shim, thinking mine was worn, but have the same issue now.
If the light is mounted low (beneath the rail), it is generally ok. If you try to move it out front (say to clear bikepacking bags) it moves all around and won’t stay pointed where you set it.
I’ll probably use some electrical tape to try to shim the bar on my own, but ideally it would work right out of the box.
