I am truly impressed with the Portal light and how it adds to the overall Lighting system. Gives me more confidence in the descents and tight switchbacks! Thank you for putting together a great light!

Great light poor adherence
Mounted the light following instructions - used first mount and it immediately fell off. Same thing when I tried the second style mount provided. To get it to stick I had to ratchet strap it to the helmet and over tighten it and leave for hours. Good customer service though when I reached out with the issue.
Yeah this is the challenge with any helmet mount, since there are no standards around helmet shape making one (or two in our case) mounts that fit every possible helmet is tricky, and with your Unit 1 helmet even a strap mount wouldn't work because it has no vent holes. Always fun figuring stuff like this out, glad the custom printed mount is working! We got you if you need anything else!

Best light system.
I have the portal on my bars and hangover on my helmet. I’ve had cheap Amazon lights and they didn’t work. This is not a cheap light system but it works as promised. Do yourself a favor and buy a good light the first time.

Excellent trail light

Fantastic light
I ordered the Portal for the Marji Gesick MTB race and it worked extremely well. Toggling between the two lowest brightness settings provided plenty of light for hours of rainy, muddy, technical riding. After the first few minutes of riding I did not notice the weight of the light at all.

Portal Light
My first Outbound Lightning purchase and I’m completely sold. Build is solid, performs as advertised. Like it so much just ordered the wife the same light.
In order to hit the same runtime as Trail Evo, and have higher peak brightness than Hangover we shoved a 5,000 mAH genuine Samsung 50E 21700 battery cell and wrapped the light around it.
This results in 43% more capacity over our Hangover light, meaning far longer runtimes (up to 2.5 hours on adaptive, a 50% increase over Hangover).
Even brighter!
While more lumens isn't always the answer, we added in some more brightness and increased the beam pattern width over Hangover to provide even more punch down the trail.
New finely tuned optics with 30% larger TIR cones means higher optical efficiency and more peripheral light to help spot the spooky stuff.
Simple User Interface
Few people read instruction manuals, even fewer want to, so we keep our lights dead simple so that you don’t need an advanced degree to remember some complicated button presses get to the mode you want.
Portal’s soft-touch overmolded top shell has a single, large button right in the middle that’s easy to feel through a thick winter glove in the dark, so you don’t have to hunt blindly around on top of your head just to turn it on.
