Quick Release Handlebar Mount
- In stock, ready to ship
- Inventory on the way
Have multiple bikes? Want to swap Trail Evo or Detour between them often? Here ya go. (I can't believe we have to specify this, but this ONLY works with our lights, competitor lights will not be compatible.)
Fits 35mm and 31.8mm handlebars. (shims for 22.2mm and 25.4mm are available)
This can be mounted to the left or the right of the stem, so even if the mount is upside down, the light can be mounted right side up and function exactly as intended.
If you have a broken handlebar mount, please contact us before buying another, regardless of how you broke it! (We love hearing crash stories and will replace it even if you yeeted into a tree)
Sure, you might be able to find cheaper lights on the market, but you likely won’t be able to find the same quality with this level of customer service. This is a case of getting what you pay for and then some!
Pretty simple project that is easy to use and works very well. Unfortunately I've gotten to test the durability a few times and it hasn't let me down yet.
Quick Release Handlebar Mount
I original obtained the Portal light for my helmet, but realizing the shortcomings of my previous bar light, I decide to repurpose my Portal light to the handle bars. The Portal light works fantastic in either position. To get the light on my bars, I ordered the bar mount and quick release adapter. Here is my only (minor) gripe. The quick release adapter and quick release itself have tight tolerances, and it can be somewhat tricky to get the light into the quick release. However, once in, that light is not going anywhere. There is no bounce or wiggle of the light when going through the bumps. If Outbound Lighting could make it just a bit easier to get the light into the quick-release mount, this would easily be a 5-star product.
So about a year ago I had a really bad crash, bike versus stonewall. In it my Evo handlebar light was smashed out of its mount, but it never stopped working despite a sizable dent. When I got back to riding again the Evo would occasionally fall off the bike, especially after drops (no bueno). Several people in the Tuesday night group I ride with -- and more than 80% of them are using Outbound Lights -- said I should lose the zip ties and contact the company; that it didn't matter how my setup was compromised (crash, etc.) or when I'd bought the lights. So I did and there was a new mount on my doorstep about three days later, no questions asked. The Evo is now back where it should be, safe and secure until my next meeting with an immovable object. The Evo handlebar and helmet light combo really is the best thing out there, IMHO. This is my first set of "real" lights after two sets of cheapos and there's really no comparison in terms of seamless visibility and cordless battery life. There are a couple of people in my group who ride with high-end lights from different companies and it seems like they're always having some sort of issue. Gotta love a company like Outbound that designs amazing stuff that they stand behind, no questions asked.
