The nighttime performances is awesome as many others mention in these reviews. Also, the daytime pattern (slowly ramping intensity, with a quick flash interspersed every few seconds) is ideal for identifying yourself to oncoming traffic during day and dusk. Other cheap lights have overly bright strobe patterns which is annoying and distracting to drivers.

Fantastic light
In the winter my commute home is pitch black. This light solved that problem and then some. Incredibly bright, super long charge, dont need to worry about the drizzle getting it wet. The price tag is shocking at first for a light but pull the trigger, it’s worth every penny.

Perfect For Night Commutes in LA
I bought the Detour Bike Light because I wanted the best commuter bike light money could buy. I was sick of replacing the cheapo Amazon lights the kept breaking on me. And more importantly I wanted undeniable visibility during my commutes to work in the busy streets of Los Angeles. I use aero bars on my road bike and was pleased to find that the Detour mounts perfectly on my setup. It's a chunky investment, but well worth the price for the quality of product, safety, and visibility it provides. And my wife rests easier knowing I'm that much less likely to wreck on my way home!

Worth it in so many ways
The light is awesome! Worth the money. You can really see the road at night and unless the driver coming at you is legitimately blind and not supposed to be driving, there is no chance they will not see you. The commuter functions are great. Pure daylight and the flash mode has every road sign pinging from a distance still. At night, the fade to full brightness and flash get drivers attention instead of just a steady light. Definitely feel much safer knowing I am seen but also that I can see hazards on the road clearly to avoid as needed. I use the detour for commuting to work. Looking forward to getting a set up for the mountain bike and for the helmet for summer riding down the line. I have my light set up with the action cam mount under a quad lock mount. Great way to keep things looking clean.

Great light, US designed and made
I'm super-happy with how this light has been working for me on my pre-dawn winter rides. Not surprising since it was designed and manufactured in the U.S. by some true bike light engineering nerds. The light feels quite durable, but if anything ever happens to it I have confidence in Outbound's warranty. Glad I went with a "buy once, cry once" approach on this one.

Best Road and Gravel Light.
At first, I had reservations about importing the light to Germany because of the high customs and shipping fees. But in the end, it was worth every penny. It's by far my favorite light on my bikes, and thanks to the quick-release mount, I can easily swap it between bikes. For ultra-long distances, I power it with an ultra-light power bank, which allows me to ride for several days without the need of a dynamo hub.
At my fellow German and French cyclists: unfortunately it ain't road legal here, but I've never been checked.

Rock Solid Mounting
A good light isn’t so good if it’s bouncing up and down on the bars all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Detour so it’s solidly locked to the bar, With a simple shim it adapts from 35mm to 31.8mm handlebars (25.4 and 22mm shims available) and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.
