Industry-Best Customer Support
I've had at least three high-end bike lighting systems prior to Outbound's Road and Hangover combination. All previous system were expensive and very bright. None, however, had a beam pattern anywhere near satisfactory.
Over the years, I've contacted at least two bike lighting manufacturers, trying to cajole them into making a duo that consists of a wide but not-too-tall handlebar floodlight, coupled with a helmet-mount moderate/central spotlight (I didn't know it, but I was asking them to make the Outbound Road plus the Hangover!). The combination seemed like a no-brainer, but I only got polite dismissals.
Then, out of the blue, the reviews tell me a US start-up called Outbound is making my dream combo!
Initial rating is five stars. Let's see how the battery and electronics hold up, and how helpful Outbound support is down the road. So far they're right on track when it comes to answering e-mail. I'm rooting for Outbound. May they always resist the temptation to manufacture offshore.

Got the Road edition. This light works as advertised. Battery run-time was a selling point to me. Accurate run-time. Indicator lights very helpful. Multiple brightness options give you control over how much juice to use. Even on low, there is plenty of illumination. Like the "cut-off" of light pattern. You can still cast beam up the road a good distance. I have various Nite Rider and CygoLights. Wanted this for battery and big appearance of beam for commuting. Have run on dark rural roads and been pleased. Run in the rain. Like the long strap on the battery pack which sensibly has Velcro tab properly placed to affix at end of wrap. My other lights always miss the mark which results in excess that can't be tucked anywhere. I also like the pulsating mode. Though not a flicker that would be best for attention, that is overcome by the size of the light lens. I'm glad I bought it. It comes with a nice storage case, too. Kudos to the designers. It's good to have a small company such as Outbound pushing the industry forward!
Works as advertised. Great beam shape and battery life. Well done!
Very impressed with this bike light! I’m in my 60s and suffer from night blindness. Found with my rad bike light I was riding past my ability to see but not with this light! It shines well past what I need to feel comfortable riding at night! Absolutely love it! Also appreciate the customer service I received in deciding if the light would fit my rad mini step thru. Picture with big light is Outbound; small rectangle light is the stock rad light; the photo with both - outbound on left and stock light on right
