I got tired of my lights failing on me, so I went to find the best light for my setup. I do everything from 60+ mile after-work rides that go into the dark to multi-week bikepacking treks spanning hundreds of miles through insane terrains. I have tested this light on the road a good bit, and can hardly wait to see how she serves on the gravel!
The beam pattern is... interesting. I didn't like the patchy look of it at first, but it lights up where it needs to—and it does so very well. I'm getting used to it. I love the adaptive brightness feature as well! I didn't even realize it had dropped as much power as it had until I put it back to full power after my ride. Perfect intensity decreasing gradient. I'll bop back in for an update on this review in a few months after some more serious testing has been done.

Followed the advice of another reviewer and went in on two since I go out in the early mornings before work and my loop is on city and residential streets that are well paved and marked but not well lit with streetlights. The light is tremendous, it really does give you almost car-like distribution, pattern, and cutoff. This also means you can run two and not blind others as long as you angle the light so the cutoff is below eye level. To echo a few others I wish there was a brighter light option with the same cutoff pattern so I wouldn’t have to run two, though. I was skeptical but like the other rider who posted about this, if you run two you won’t want to go back to just one. Either way, terrific light and seriously recommend it!

Rock Solid Mounting
A good light isn’t so good if
it’s bouncing up and down on the bars all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Detour so it’s solidly locked to the bar, With a simple shim it adapts from 35mm to 31.8mm handlebars (25.4 and 22mm shims available) and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.

This material we use is an incredibly cool (ha) engineered resin that is not only very durable, but also conducts heat. The result is a lightweight, durable, and thermally balanced light housing.
